Aaaaahhhhnold made his return to the metallic role of the Terminator last week with Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. A few staff members went to see it even though we knew the movie would suck. I mean, come on. It's a given, right? Haven't you seen the previews? It sucks...right? Well actually, no. It's not that bad. I think it was because we went into the movie thinking that it was going to suck though. Don't get me wrong, T3 is not going to win any Oscars or anything. It's borderline campy with a bunch of cheap pops for fans of the first two movies with throwback references to them. There are even several kiddie moments in the film. But, the CGI isn't that obnoxious (maybe a little better than T2 even), there's a lot of action, a hot chick and Aaaaahhhhnold blows up a ton of shit. The ever-so-famous "Judgement Day" actually takes place in T3, which is pretty cool. So why wasn't T2 "T2: Rise of the Machines" and T3 "T3: Judgement Day"? Maybe they didn't really think they'd get budgeted for a third film but they still wanted to use the really cool subtitle Judgement Day. Anyway, T3...go see it. What more can we say?
