Anime. It has swept the nation like the Macarena. I remember when manga first became popular when I was collecting comics. People just called it "the big eye stuff". Now the Japanese animated series have grown to epidemic proportions. Even the staff of ekajsmash has been caught up in the craze.

The cheapest source for anime is the Cartoon Network. Adult Swim freakin' rocks. Everyone knows (or should know) this. Now, there's a new series called "Fooly Cooly". I thought this would be a good anime to talk about because it is so freakin' weird. There's this kid who gets hit by a girl on a scooter (this seems to happen a lot) and then stuff starts growing out of his head. What kind of stuff? Well, horns, cat ears and robots. You know, the usual. Don't worry, no matter what is sticking out of his head, he hides it with some success using a regular cap. Well, the first robot that sprouts from his head now lives with them. So does the chick that ran over him. A second robot comes out of the kid's head and starts fighting the first one. The first robot then EATS the kid and (I'm guessing here) uses him as a pilot. The fight scenes are really hard to follow. There isn't much coherency. It is like a bunch of artists got together one night and got really drunk. But, you get the gist of what's going on. There's also a lot of funky guitar music in this anime. Overall, it's pretty good, just confusing as hell. But then again, I think most animes try to be a little confusing.

I think I'm going to go get drunk and watch it again.
