MidSouth Con 22 Scorecard 04/01/04 |
The new ekajsmash tradition, a post-con scorecard! This one is for MidSouth Con 22, which was held March 26-28 in Memphis, TN.
Attendance - 8.5
This year's MidSouth Con was also host to DeepSouth Con 42. What does that mean? Not much, really. Apparently DeepSouth Con is a "roving con" that moves from con to con each year. I don't think it really added anything to MSC, but there were around a thousand people at the con.
Anime Room - 6.0
The anime room was OK. They played several animes that I had never heard of. They also played anime music videos, a minus in my book.
Role Playing (D&D) - 8.5
This is a great role playing con. There are always several RPGA and non-RPGA games to get in on. If they were more organized, it would have been better.
LARP - 7.4
The LARPs at this con are usually pretty good.
ConSuite - 8.3
MSC's ConSuite is usually pretty good. They always have something for you. They even had Bawls energy drink for people who paid $5 extra.
Video Game Room - 7.3
The LAN Party room was huge, but I'm not sure how many people took advantage of it. It may be a waste of space.
Dance - N/A
I'm not sure if they had a dance at this con.
Guests - 4.3
CJ who? Todd Lockwood was the only bright spot on the guest list.
Rocky Horror - 9.6
This is usually the best con for Rocky Horror: always a big crowd, fun virgin rituals, people know the lines. What more could you ask for?
Costumes - 8.4
There were several people in costume at this con. Storm troopers, as always and even a Witch Hunter Robin!
Overall Score - 7.6
A good con! There were several things to do here. Plus, if you got bored, you could always go to downtown Memphis or take a short drive to the casinos in Tunica, MS.
