MidSouth Con 23 was held April 1-3 in Memphis, TN. Overall, it was a decent con, but the organization from last year had completely disappeared. They seriously need to get their shiznit together if they ever want to become a major con.

Attendance - 8.0
There were around 700 people there this year.

Anime Room - 8.0
The anime room significantly improved from last year. There actually was a schedule that was adhered to.

Role Playing (D&D) - 2.7
Rooms changed. Times changed. My plans changed. Maybe next year, my con schedule will change.

LARP - N/A
Didn't see any of the usual Vampire LARPs there this year.

ConSuite - 6.5
The Consuite had moved from it's normal location (can anyone explain why?). They had a few drinks and some crumbs in large trays that were supposed to be filled with snacks.

Video Game Room - 7.3
The LAN Party room was huge, but I'm not sure how many people took advantage of it. It may be a waste of space.

Dance - 5.0
Sad, just sad.

Guests - 6.3
Luke Ski was this con's one saving grace when it came to guests. I was lucky enough to catch his show both here and at DragonCon.

Rocky Horror - 9.6
This is usually the best con for Rocky Horror: always a big crowd, fun virgin rituals, people know the lines. What more could you ask for?

Costumes - 8.4
There were several people in costume at this con.

Overall Score - 6.9
It was a decent con, but I'm really surprised they scored that high. The con staff should really be kissing the butts of Luke Ski, the Rocky Horror people and all the fans. Maybe next year they could lower the prices as their way of saying thanks!
